You Need To See How To Create This Unique Smoky Blended Furniture Technique

Blending furniture doesn’t have to be hard. I want to show you how I created a more “smoky” blended furniture technique with only two colors. That’s right only TWO colors are on this buffet!!

First I want to show you the before. Remember looks can be deceiving. This piece may look okay in pictures but it is just a veneer covering that is badly damaged and the inside, including the drawers, were super dirty!

Supply List

  1. Wax/Butta Brush

  2. Synthetic Brushes

  3. Surf Prep Sanding Kit (Use coupon code BELLARENOVARE10 )

What About The Drawers?

When you are flipping furniture, you need to have great attention to detail. For this piece I already told you it was wicked dirty. The drawers were an absolute mess!!

The first step in cleaning the drawers was to use my Surf Prep Sander and sand the inside and outside with a high grit sandpaper.

Polishing Furniture Drawers

I don’t know how else to describe the next step for the drawers other than saying we are polishing them. The wood will look so nice and beautiful once you are done. First step is to wipe away excess dust with a clean cloth. Then you will apply the BMB. Wipe away any excess right away (if it sits don’t worry just wipe it away when you can). Then you are done!!

I know these first few steps do not have anything to do with teaching you a blended furniture technique but these are tips you NEED to know for flipping furniture.

Look at the HUGE difference!!!

Cleaning Wooden Furniture

This piece was so dirty! I also cleaned the inside of the frame along with the outside. I used my Cleaner. Look how GROSS that water is!!! PRO TIP: Make sure you wipe down your piece with clean water and a clean rag AFTER you clean with your cleaner.

The Perfect Blended Furniture Technique

I always tell you it is hard for me to actually write out the perfect way to blend. As always I put together a video for you!! Check it out (don’t forget to subscribe ❤️).

Now What? How To Seal Dark Furniture!

You have now perfected this blended furniture technique but you need to seal your piece. Dark colors are ALWAYS a pain to seal. My favorite way to seal this colors is BMB. It is easy and the butta is so soft you don’t have to kill your arms and wrists applying it.

You will apply the butta exactly like you did with the drawers above. Wipe away the excess and BOOM you are done. It does need to be reapplied over paint but maybe once a year or less. It will also just freshen up your furniture because the Orange Grove smells soooooo divine!

The left is no butta, the right is with butta!

Check out the final result below!! I would love to hear what you think.

Happy Creating Friends!!
